Bring a Team Assistant to CentriKid!

In the summer of 2010,  I had just graduated high school, and was getting ready to go into college. I was a summer kids ministry intern, and I was asked my church’s kidmin leader to come to CentriKid as a Team Assistant. I knew that I loved kids ministry, and wanted to serve God during the summer, so I said yes! The experience as a CentriKid Team Assistant opened my eyes to the ministry of camp, and I knew that I wanted to be involved more with kids ministry and be a camp staffer one day. You have the opportunity to ask high schoolers and college students in your ministry to partner along with you and come to camp as a team assistant!

Team Assistants are a valued part of the CentriKid programming: the kids benefit from positive role models, group leaders have more possibilities for adult sponsors, and the CentriKid Staff is always thankful for the extra help. The Team Assistant program began to help church leaders bring more adults to camp. Over the years we have grown our program to more than we even imagined it would ever become. Many of our current staffers (and even office team) were once Team Assistants!

Check out this video about Team Assistants for a broad overview about the program.

You can find out more about the team assistant program in your Group Leader information.

Remember the Team Assistant Program is an option for your most trusted high school juniors and seniors or college aged students. Middle school and high school students who are not at least a rising junior are not allowed to serve in this position. If you are interested in bringing team assistants make sure you add them to your participant lists as a Team Assistant. We love partnering with you in ministry and cannot wait to have Team Assistants join us this summer.

By brining a team assistant to CentriKid, you are helping bring up a new generation of kids ministry leaders as you build relationships with them and they minister to your kids at camp! Bring a team assistant to CentriKid, and you’ll see how God can use this incredible program!

2016 Camp Music!

The summer is quickly approaching, and we can’t wait for your church to experience CentriKid 2016: Unseen! As a kid at camp, I connected most with the worship music at camp. Music has an incredible way of connecting with us and communicating the message of Christ in a unique way!

We can’t wait to explore the armor of God with kids as we focus on unseen truth, unseen strength, and unseen peace. Later on in the week, we’ll see how we can live these out with visible faith and visible boldness.  We are excited that the music this summer will help drive in the message of the spiritual direction this summer. We design the CentriKid worship playlists to be recognizable songs that kids hear on the radio (or can easily learn) so that they can jump right in to worship at camp.

The 2016 Camp Music has some old favorites returning to camp like these songs:CentriKid_CD

  • This is Amazing Grace
  • Lord, I Need You
  • Your Glory is Forever
  • One Thing Remains
  • How Great is Our God
  • All Because of Jesus
  • The Monkey Shuffle
  • Around the World

We are also excited to have some new music for 2016! Like these songs:

  • Not Ashamed
  • Live to Worship You
  • Good, Good Father
  • Unseen Theme Song (available June 1st!)

You can start sharing the camp music with your kids so they will know them when they arrive at camp. To purchase and download these songs so that you can prepare for the summer, check out the music page on CentriKid.com!  You can also check out the songs that will be on our I Can’t Wait, Party, and Worship playlists on that page!

As always, you’ll also be able to purchase a CentriKid Camps Worship CD featuring all of the songs in the camp store for $7 while supplies last!

APRIL FOOLS! (Announcing the 2017 theme!)

Earlier today, we posted that we were excited to reveal of 2017 theme: Take Out the Trash!

April Fools!

“Take Out the Trash” is NOT our 2017 theme! In fact, we would never do a chores theme. We always want our theme to be kid-friendly and always rooted in scripture.april fools reveal

At CentriKid, we believe choosing the camp thing is so important in order to communicate the spiritual direction of the week. We always start with deciding the spiritual direction (which is the most important thing) for the summer, and then developing a motif to support the spiritual direction. You can read more about how we choose the CentriKid theme on the blog here.

Now, you might be asking: What is the real 2017 theme? We will release it this summer on the last day of each cycle of camp! We cannot wait to reveal what your kids will be learning about in 2017, but you’ll have to wait a few more months to find out.

Before we even get to 2017, we are excited for this upcoming summer. We hope you’re joining us for CentriKid 2016: Unseen! If you haven’t registered yet, there’s still time! Find dates and locations here.
