Molly served as a team leader with CK1 during Summer 2011. Here is a story from her summer!
Before coming to CentriKid, I never knew how intentionally God uses our life circumstances to help us do ministry. This summer, God made so clear to me how perfect He is. Everything He had done in my life equipped me for serving at camp this summer. My father passed away in 2009, but God used my experience to help me give encouragement to others throughout the summer…
During response time, a girl I had never met before came and asked to talk. I took her outside to talk one-on-one. She was upset that her friends were fighting, so I helped her with a little advice. Before I prayed with her and took her inside, she stopped to remind her group leader that she wore a back brace. The leader asked if it was bothering her, and she said,”no.” Then said, “you know my dad died, right?”
Right then, our hearts opened up into an awesome talk. I had never met this girl. It was so obvious that God had sent her to me for that reason. I can’t even describe the joy in my heart looking back on that now. I even got to meet her mom and talk to her on the last day. She thanked me over and over for talking with her daughter, but I thanked her even more for bringing her to camp.
The situation repeated itself all summer long as God continued to reveal His sovereignty and perfection in His plan. Not only was it a lesson I used for looking back, but also for pressing forward towards Christ. This summer was the summer of my life and the Lord continues to overwhelm my heart not only from the memories of camp, but what I know He will continue to do because I’ve seen Him do it.
Please let this story be a constant reminder that the Lord has you where you are for a reason. He puts you through situations so that He can be glorified. Are you prepared to use your story?
