Spring Break is an exciting time! Kids start realizing that summer is drawing near, the days are getting longer, and the weather is getting warmer. Several families take Spring Break trips and attendance is often low at church on these weeks, but don’t count this week out as an opportunity to minister.
Here are a three activities you can do during Spring Break:
1. Tie-dye t-shirts. This can be a little bit messy, but if it’s nice outside you can get out in the sunshine and let the kids design their own shirts. This is a fun, inexpensive activity and kids will love getting to take home a cool, new t-shirt!
2. Game Day! Invite kids to come to the church during the day and play some of their favorite games. You can play classic games like Kickball, Wiffleball, and Dodgeball or create a fun new game! Let kids choose which games they would like to play most.
3. Have a movie day! Pick out a couple of your favorite kid-friendly movies, provide popcorn and drinks, and sit back and relax with the kids as you all enjoy a fun day indoors.
All of these activities can be done individually, or if you want to have a really awesome week, do these activities in an action-packed 3-day event! Kids can show up in the morning and leave later in the afternoon. Take time during these activities to get to know each child who attends. Use these fun activities to build relationships and seek opportunities to pour into the kids spiritually during these days.
